Derek Evers (born May 2, 1979) is a Canadian music producer and video game designer. His most notable works include;
Pet Cemetery (song),
Uriel 2 (game),
and Jungle Tag (game).
Early Life | Evers was born in Kitchener, ON. He often switched between various art and technical schools from high-school to college. He was raised by his biological parents, who later divorced.
Early Adult Illnesses | Evers is diagnosed with
Crohn's disease (biopsy, age 17),
Schizophrenia (clinically assessed, at age 20), and maintains a high to genius level IQ. The combination of the three is a fairly rare medical occurrence.
Career | Evers initial work was through various Courier Companies, which progressed to almost Military like hours. It was during that time, that Evers produced most of his musical works at home.
He largely abandoned his past, to teach himself game design. The early previews of Uriel 2, gained much praise with employees at Nintendo, Microsoft, and the video game community in general, via twitter.
